PREVIOUS ENTRY: Triple Chinese Zodiac Collaboration
The new collaboration is the Chinese Zodiac! Unlike the Calendar collab, which will be an actual calendar, the Chinese Zodiac collab will be a themed gallery posted on Randomyze.com with background information about the Chinese Lunar Calendar, and the images created by you to represent them! Also, unlike the previous collaboration, three people can volunteer for the same symbol, giving visitors three unique ideas of the 12 animals.

What is required:
1. Draw your animal (or anthro character) with a background (limited bg's such as you see here [link] (shadow+reflection) are okay, as long as there is a sense of ground)
2. use full color (cell shading is okay)
3. your lines must be clean and professional (this means no rush work will be accepted)
3. and it must be finished and submitted two months after the official start date, or your spot will be given to somebody else.

A technical tutorial will be coming your way soon as well. And by technical, I mean: I wont be explaining how to color eyes, how to color sking, and things like that. But I will explain how to set up your tools, an overview of my process, and the general idea of how I lay down my colors. Hopefully some of you find it useful!

Commissions are open and outlined on my website, HOWEVER I only have time for speed paintings at the moment. Other commissions of mine are taking up a great deal of time and effort, so I can't get involved in anything difficult at my normal prices. Hence: speed paintings are the only thing I can do for you without charging something ridiculous. (example of a speed painting: [link] )

Here are the guidelines:
You've gotta draw a human(oid) character in any environment, pose, or situation (keep it pg rated), using the month you've chose as a theme. For example, december can use a santa themed character, july can be beach themed, etc. I've got no deadline for the project yet, but will decide on one soon and give more details (count on about a month or a month and a half for the deadline). And I suppose the deadline will be Sept. 30th, which gives us all a month and a half.



I have lineart available for coloring if you'd like. Feel free to color them in any way you see fit, but do not remove the text. You can color the text, beautify it, add your own text, but I still need to be credited for the lineart. ^^ If you upload them to da or anywhere else, send me a note and I'll add a link to this journal! (sorry I don't fave these. if I did, my favorites would seem a bit egocentric... X_x )

Manga Revolution.com is a website I developed over a year ago, and has grown a lot since then. It's a bustling online community devoted primarily to manga and anime type artists. If you fit the bill and want to hang out with a lot of cool people, feel free to join ^^

Randomyze.com is a portfolio website for myself, and those that wish to become involved with the collaborations and other projects that I host. It's a way for me to showcase my art in any exciting (boring) fashion I see fit, and a great way for you to get your art onto another website while helping to promote your deviant art account. Check it out if you'd like ^^



I'm so excited about this project, but am not sure how it will be recieved by all of you. The idea is simple: promote anime and manga that bases itself in the history of the world. Be it colonial times, roman, prehistory, anything. As long as it's in the past, it fits the bill. Think of it as a huge open ended collaboration.

So what's my angle? Simply this: if you create anime or manga artwork that fits this description, I will post it on a special page of Randomyze.com (the page is not up yet) and make it known to the world who did such a fantastic image. This is a great way for you to get involved with my personal website, promote your own artistic interests, and potentially move traffic through your deviant art page (or other website). There are some rules though (I dont want to be bogged down in low quality images for the sake of being listed on my site)

Rules: 1: must be inspired by history (not a duplication if you dont want. characters who's clothing, surroundings, or other aspects are inspired by history will fit this requirement). 2: must be appropriate for viewers of all ages. Do you see how sexy I allow my art to be? That's about as far as I'll allow it to go on my site, so don't push beyond that or you risk wasting a lot of your time. 3: the piece you submit must be colored with no less than 3 tones. Painterly style is preferred and will get higher priority. 4: this is not a rule, but would be appreciated: wherever you post your image, link back to my DA page, or the project page on Randomyze.com (preferably the project page) This will let everyone know about the project and help promote it!

On a side note, if you do something from the american colonial time period (which is of course the name of the project) your piece will get TOP billing on the projects main page (An example of this would be my adele character displayed at the head of this journal). Also, you WILL receive full credit for your work with disclaimers and links back to your own projects.

So use this project to your advantage, and hopefully we can inspire the industry to take a serious look at anime and manga inspired by world history!
