This tutorial would work in any art program that has comparable tools.
Even early versions of Photoshop can manage this, but it may be a pain to set up your brushes
So I recommend using photoshop 7+, and of course a Tablet

my stupid tablet stopped working with pen pressure, but this tutorial still helps a lot. I'll definitely have to try this technique soon. :D

it's possible that you can still use the "fade" option, but I haven't tried it myself.
